8:00am - 5:00pm

You will learn not only the theory and concept of the red dot system on handguns, but you will experience firsthand the improved shooting ability and speed. Accurate shots at 25 yards, and an increased speed and surgical accuracy at room distances are just a few of the benefits.

Students are required to have taken our Right on Target -Intermediate Level Handgun (formerly Defensive Handgun 1) class prior to taking this class.

Topics Covered

• Basic techniques of red dot aiming
• The effect of the red dot on marksmanship
• Types of red dots and the pros and cons
• Concepts of close in engangements and how to apply them to combat scenarios
• Understanding and applying malfunction drills with a red dot 
• Applying asymmetric dot positions including Dynamic Loading/Pakiti-Tursai
• Accuracy drills from the 5, 10 , 15, 20, and 25-yard lines

Gear Requirements

• A semi-automatic handgun in good working condition with a mounted Red Dot
• At least three magazines for the student's handgun
• At least one magazine pouch
• A sturdy belt that will fit your holster and magazine pouches
• Proper attire, pants with belt loops that will fit your belt and close-toed shoes
• A strong side hip holster specific to your handgun (outside the waistband recommended). This should be made of sturdy leather or kydex which does not collapse when the firearm is not inside of it. ***Blackhawk Serpa Holsters and Uncle Mike’s soft sided holsters (or their equivalents) are strictly prohibited***
• 250 rounds of brass cased/ copper jacketed factory loaded ammunition. Round count may vary significantly from class to class
• Adequate eye and ear protection
